In morden Feng Shui, dragon is used to ward off evil and calamities.
It is also use to attract wealth. In a home on the direction of the Green Dragon, place an auspicious dragon can effectively ward off evil and calamities.
If in a house the White Tiger direction is too strong, then place an auspicious dragon on the direction of the Green dragon to further enhance it direction and to tame down the White Tiger.
When placing the dragon, it must face water or wide open space.
When placing an auspicious dragon in the hall, place it on the left and head facing out.
If there is water outside, place the dragon head facing that direction.

Legend had it that the PiXiu is a ferocious but lucky monster. The male known as Pi and female Xiu. In the past these monster are differentiated by its horn. One with a horn is known as "Tian Lu" and a a double horn is call "PiXie"(mean ward off evils).
Later the monsters are all made with mostly one horn. In the south, people prefer to call this ferocious lucky monster as "PiXiu" but in the north people still call it "PiXie".
PiXiu food is wealth. In China, folklore has it that PiXiu, dragon and lion are the same they can ward off evils, calamities and promote happiness and enhance good luck.
PiXiu and QiLin are different, PiXiu can protect a home and ward off evils.
In feng shui, PiXiu place in a home can ward off evils and calamities and enhance luck and protection.It also enhance wealth, so those doing business can place PiXiu either in their office or home. PiXiu can deflect the 5 kill stars and negative energy to protect and enhance wealth of the home.

  相传貔貅是一种凶猛瑞(lucky)兽,而这种猛兽分为雌性及雄性,雄性名“貔”,雌性名为“貅”。但现在流传下来的都没有分为雌雄了。在古时这种瑞兽是分一角和两角的,一角的称为“天禄”,两角的称为“辟邪”。后来再没有分一角或两角,多以一角造型为主。 在南方,一般人是喜欢称这种瑞兽为“貔貅”,而在北方则依然称为“辟邪”。至于天禄,则较少有人用以称这种瑞兽,还有人将它称为“怪兽”或“四不象”。
  貔貅是以财为食的,纳食四方之财。中国传统是有“貔貅”的习俗,和龙狮一样,有将这地方的邪气赶走、带来欢乐及好运的作用。

貔貅的作用貔貅与麒麟有所不同,貔貅是凶狠的瑞兽,且护主心特强。有镇宅辟邪的作用。
  貔貅在风水上的作用,可分以下几点说明:
  一、有镇宅辟邪的作用。将已开光的貔貅安放在家中,可令家运转好,好运加强,赶走邪气,有镇宅之功效,成为家中的守护神,保合家平安。
  二、有趋财旺财的作用。除助偏财之外,对正财也有帮助,所以做生意的商人也宜安放貔貅在公司或家中。
  三、有化解五黄大煞的作用。用来化煞镇宅和旺财,尤其在财运方面,貔貅是有较明显作用的。

1:古代传说中的一种动物。外形像鹿,头上有角,全身有鳞甲,尾像牛尾。古人把麒麟当作仁兽﹑瑞兽,拿它象征祥瑞。
2:比喻才能杰出的人。
3:龙性淫,与牛交,生麒麟。传说麒麟是龙与牛交合的产物。(Wow~It was believed in legend ,that, Qilin is the crossbreed of Dragon and Cow! In fact there is no real Qilin in tis world)

So, now you guys know how to differentiate the look of a Dragon/ PiXiu/ Qilin?

PiXiu only has single horn(for male) and Qilin should has hoofs...
